Paulina Arcklin's home

It's freezing here today and all white outside. We don't have snow, but it's frosty. So I thought we'd go visit lovely Paulina Arcklins home as it is all white and perfect. I love Paulina! :) I mean it, I do! She creates the most beautiful photos and faboulous catalogues. So when I saw her name come up this morning on 79ideas I quickly rushed over to see her home and of course it's fab too! I love the white chair on top of the fridge. Ok, I'll stop now as I would go on.. I LOVE HER! Don't we all?!

Christmas styling traditional style

In October I did a Christmas styling for local English magazine Living Poitou-Charentes. Well.. it's OUT! I was surprised when editor Kathryn told me that my styling was also on the front cover. :)

I've always wanted to appear blurred in a magazine.. Well, HERE I AM - blurred!

Advent candle holder DIY

So I've mentioned that I'm doing a lot in black this Christmas. I've made really simple advent candle holder from black beer bottles. Yes, these were already black I didn't even have to spray paint them! I've used Weekday Carnival's advent calendar numbers. You get them HERE. I put the bottles in water for a couple of hours, removed the lables, printed out the numbers, cut them out and stuck them on with some glue spray.

With some white candles you have a modern advent candle holder for basically nothing more than the cost of some candles.

Fancy having a go? Don't like the black bottles? Find some clear ones instead.

I won it

This beautiful stag cup and saucer from Le Petit Boudoir.  I won it in the How sweet to be a cloud give away. It's lovely. Thank you very much!!

Magnus is home from the nursery with a cold again (2nd week running), so I managed to sneak a cup of hot chocolate with cream before he got up this morning.

If you look closely you can see our new DIY advent candle holder. If the weather clears up I should be able to take some photos and show you later.

New life

to old lamps and furniture rescued from abandoned factories. With workshops in Amsterdam and Berlin, Bloom & Bloom restore industrial vintage items. I think this is a great concept. Not to mention of course that the items look cool and are unique!  It's also great seeing where the items where rescued from. I bet there are lots of hidden treasures around waiting to be discovered. We love old treasures, don't we?!

Black Christmas

Are you going to start decorating soon? I'm thinking about it.. It's kind of strange this year as we already had Christmas in October, but I'm looking forward to decorating again. The magazine I'm in is out Tuesday, so I'll soon show you what I did. As it's a family magazine I didn't go mad with black decorations. Instead I used a lot of white and touches of red to make it more traditional, but also to make it appeal to the readers. I did of course collected a lot of free things from the woods. I can't wait to show you in a few days. But now.. more black..

Thank you so much to Will from Bright Bazaar for including me in his Bright links post today with my Bright Yellow post

Have a relaxing Sunday! We're off to a Christmas marked.. not sure if I'll find any black decorations in the French countryside, but there's always black spray paint.

Advent calendar

If there's a blog I find inspiring it's interior stylist Annaleenas Hem. The photos are always beautiful and she comes up with so many wonderful DIY projects. The most recent one is an advent calendar simply taped to the wall with maskingtape. It looks very trendy. Have you made one yet?! My son chose a Scooby Doo chocolate calendar. Not quite as cool as Annaleenas one, but it was what he wanted.

Bright yellow

Yesterday I had an idea and went for it. It only took about 1,5 hours and it cost €5. I changed a boring white wall to a (much) brighter one by simply measuring out a rectangle and painting it yellow. The letters mfm = Magnus F. Morris. I have a very useful scrapbooking alphabet. They work like stickers. I stuck them on the white wall, painted over them, then peeled them off. :)

Hope you like it! Magnus did..

Nice detail

just spotted on Coté Maison. I think letters sometimes look a bit boring. However, these letters painted the same colour as the door I find really interesting. I think they look quite classy. Do you?

They made this with maskingtape?!

Today I would like to share this fantastic idea. We love DIY, don't we?! I didn't think you could make this very stylish Louis Poulsen´s AJ lamp from masking tape, but there you go. I love both versions of it. Fancy having a go?!

A beautiful apartment from 1904 renovated and located in the city of Malmö, Sweden. I love the original features as well as the furniture. My favorites are the wall paneling and the mirror.. Do you have a favorite?
