L'AND Vineyards

As it's my Birthday today, I'm pretending to be spending it here. At L'AND Vineyards near Lisbon, Portugal. I think it's got everything. Fab furniture and lighting, a SPA, nice views and I'm guessing nice wine too.

Pretty cool isn't it?!

In real life Magnus is ill, but we've had a nice day together on the sofa.
My husband is now cooking dinner. Perfect!

Minimalistic Marfa House

This is what I call minimalistic. I'm not sure if I could live like this, but I have to say it's very impressive. This is Marfa House, in Texas.

Lately I've seen a lot of round tables used as bedside tables. Like it a lot!

Is this a dreamy patio or what?!

Could you live like this or is it too minimalistic?!

Pic of the day

It's been a non-computer day for me today, which is nice sometimes.
This photo is from Swedish shop Pure love and I think that's just what this photo is PURE.
The colours go beautifully together. It also gives a nice spring feel.

Thank you so much for all the nice comments you are leaving. After the school holidays I'll have more  computer time and I'll come round and say hello to you all.
Have a nice evening!

Tuesday Tips - Rugcycle

Large mats and rugs can be very expensive, so why not create your own? How?! By sewing smaller mats together of course! I've tried.

I guess the word rugcycle is really meant for old rugs that are recycled, but as the word sounds so cool I just had to use it.

You can also use this as a way of adding colour. Here I've used pink thread to go with my green mats. It might even be possible to sew two rugs together with a sewing machine. Sadly my sewing machine would just laugh at me if I tried something like that, hence the hand stitching.

Why not make a large faux sheepskin rug from two small ones like Alysha did?!

Don't want to do it yourself? In Sweden there's a company called RugCycle
They specialize in vintage rugs.

The great thing about rugcycling is that it doesn't matter if the size of the rugs varies.
It just makes it interesting and different.

A rug can even be made too look shabby like here with threads hanging out.

A touch of yellow

in our living room. The light is so good today. Why? Because it's completely white outside.

Cold, but so NOW

To me, this place has got it all. I think it's really cool. It's rented out as a studio. How much fun would it be to do some styling here.

I find it quite cold to look at, but it has some lovely original features. It's such a NOW location. Those walls... wow!

Talking about cold, I've just been for a 40 minute walk in a snow storm! No really, it's not a joke! It was great! Best thing I've done all day. Well, except for making a tasty cake and building lego sofas and tables to Magnus's colourful pretend police station.

Hope you've had a nice weekend!!

Spring-like

Let's start the weekend off with yet another spring-like home. I love the light in this newly renovated 1930s home located in Aarhus, Denmark.

Like I've said a hundred times already, I'm not a pink girl, but I do love this cool pink chair.

There are some fab pieces of furniture, art and lighting in this home, but I think my favorite is the tiled floor. What's yours?

Thank you so much for all your messages yesterday about our kitchen
It really feels a lot brighter than before.

Hope you've got some fab stuff planned for the weekend!  It's freezing here and not tempting to go anywhere..

Happy Weekend!

Kitchen changes

So a few things have changed. I've painted the large grey dresser white inside. This makes things on display sitck out a lot more and it also brightens up the room. I've added green touches mainly by painting a few things. It all feels so much brighter. I've also put the dining table back in the kitchen again.

The industrial trolley was in my office as extra storage when I had the shop. I much prefer it in the kitchen. It takes away the IKEA look and adds a bit more of an industrial feel. It's also extra storage.

As you can see here I've also painted a bit more black. I had painted a rectangle in blackboard before, but now I've painted it all the way up and on the other side next to the fridge and it's made a huge difference.

The large fridge magnets are just paper mache letter I bought in a craft shop. I've painted them green and put magnets on the back. So easy! I also have an M, so Magnus can spell TEA, EAT, ATE, MEAT, MATE, TEAM...

The large green board I've written a post about HERE. It's just an old table top painted green.

Hope you've like the changed I've made.
They were actually really easy changes to do and mostly involved paint.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!
