Modern Rubik's Cube DIY

Do you remember the Rubik's Cube? I've yet to complete one. Little Empty Room has made a modern version and I love it. Who wouldn't want to complete this? I might have another go..

Marble, black, white, wood and gold. Great combination and of course trendy in fashion and interiors at the moment.

You'll also find plenty of other DIY projects on this blog.
Love discovering inspiring blogs!

Have a great day!

In collaboration with Plant me now

In spring I planted lots of beautiful small plants from Plant me now. I was expecting it to all look very colourful by now, but instead nature happened. Had I factored in a rabbit attack? No I hadn't.. It was all going really well. The plants were growing fast, in fact getting bigger by the day. Then one morning a lot of the plants had been eaten. A rabbit was spotted, so it got the blame. There really wasn't much left of the plants, but we repotted them and put them back in the sunlounge. They have since recovered and done really well, but as for the flowers, well we haven't seen any flowers yet. As green seems to be the preferred colour of plants this year, I don't think it matters too much. I think the plants look really nice as they are. This year I will make sure to plant spring bulbs in October/November for them to flower early.

This is a great spot for a quiet coffee. It's where you get the morning sun, so we've created a nice space with some bamboo furniture. A perfect place for breakfast. Not only that, it's also a nice shaded area in the evening.

We're really been enjoying the good weather here. It's not every summer we can brag about 27 degrees in Scotland, so we're making the most of it. We're outside a lot. It's great! It almost feels like we're back in France again.

As plants go though it's soon time to plant winter bedding plants. My favourite has always been pansies. I always used to plant them as early as I could in France and was thinking about continuing the tradition here. That was until I found Mon Amie, how sweet are they? I think this lovely blue colour will cheer me up during the (long) winter months.

Tuesday Tips - TREND ALERT Patterned Tiles

Have you noticed? There's something trending - Patterned tiles.

I've decided to focus on bathroom tiles in this post, as I've seen so many fabulous bathrooms lately, but patterned tiles is something we're now seeing in all rooms.

If you want your bathroom to look a bit different - be bold and choose interesting patterned tiles. Mix and match for a great result.

We're not only seeing patterned tiles, but also patchwork tiles. The tiles are completely random and don't match at all, but it still works.

Oh, and don't forget! If you want a trendy bathroom - certain cool products are obligatory! Same goes for wooden stools!

1. and 3. Aesop products 3. Wooden Stool Bodie and Fou

What  do you think? Ready to add some patterned tiles?!

New bench

We've got a great new bench in our home. I love the clean lines and the minimal look. Black, white and wood.. such a nice combination. The bench is from Made.com.

Is it possible to have too many interior design magazines? Every time I go abroad I stock up. I always find it interesting to see trends in different countries and to pick up a DIY idea or two.

Thank you so much to Desire to Inspire for featuring my recent projects!!

Happy New Week! It's going to be a busy one.

A beautiful white home

This home is mainly white, but it has got some nice black details. What I like about this apartment is the mixture of designer and vintage furniture. It makes it more interesting. It simply wouldn't look the same without it!

I'm a huge fan of art on benches. I'm in the process of doing something similar at home. It's also great when you're renting, so you don't have to make too many holes in the walls.

I also spot a DIY projects - the art behind the sofa. It looks great next to the Pia Wallen cross blanket

The vintage table in this room is what catches my eye. That and the striking black and white poster. The Hans Wegner chairs are great too of course!

Posters in the kitchen -  so trendy!

Pinbassador - my event in Glasgow

I'm excited to say I've been chosen to be a Pinterest Ambassador (in fact I'm the very first one!). If you follow me on Pinterest you might have noticed that I pin a lot and I'm a passionate Pinterest user.

Pinterest are calling us Pinbassadors. My first event will be held in Glasgow on the 20th August. If you would like to come please send me a message and I'll add you to the list. We'll talk about Pinterest and how we can use the platform. There will be an interior design related workshop too. Pinterest UK will also be present on the day.

The venue for the night is amazing, award wining South Block. I can't wait! I'm in the middle of organising everything with Pinterest and some very cool interior design related sponsors, as there will be goodie bags for all of the participants. I will of course document the night with lots of photos and a follow up blog post or two. You'll be able to read more about it on the Pinterest blog too.

The other exciting news is that I'll be featured in The Times soon in the Bricks & Mortar Supplement. There's plenty of things happening here, this is not even all, but I'll tell you more later..
