Happy Halloweeeeen

or Merry Christmas...?! We just had a Christmas party here with a roast, red wine, candles, music the lot! Luckily nobody knocked on the door.. :) It was all set up and we won't see my parents at Christmas, so it felt like the right thing to do. Quite funny though. Magnus even unwrapped the fake presents and went "it's spaghetti!" It was fun!

Here's a tiny glimpse of our fake Christmas as promised..

Hege in France sneak peek Christmas

I'd better go entertain my guests..
big hug & Happy Halloween!

The cherry on top

Anne Hubert, the owner of this beautiful Parisian apartment, is the creator of The cherry on top, a French brand ( in French La cerise sur le gâteau). Her apartment was fully renovated two years ago. I love her style, different and unique.

I happen to have some yellow neon string and now know what to do with it. I just need some clothes pegs...

Thank you to Françoise for being so sweet and thank you all so much for you messages!
I'm working really hard on my styling and of course I've got my parents staying (oh yes, they're working hard too..) so I'm not on the pc very much. I'll show you one photo of Christmas later.
Have a nice day!

And then

there was Christmas.. We've even got frost this morning.

I've been really quiet this weekend as there was so much to do. We've been out picking holly, pine twigs, sticks, moss - you name it! :) It's really Christmassy in our kitchen/living room just now. A bit early, I know, but it's nice too. Patrick, a local farmer, is dropping by later with a small Christmas tree (yay!), so we'll be decorating that for the photographer coming tomorrow. Now, I've got to make some sweets and wrap some fake presents.. I'll show you more from inside later in December.

Check out my Pinterest Christmas board for inspiration.
I also love this star made lovely Miranda with the blog Lekker Fris

Thank you so much for all your messages!
Have a lovely day!

I fell in love with the white photos as you can see.. Aren't they great?!

Thank you so much for your messages yesterday.
The reason I'm planning Christmas in October is because I've got a man with a camera coming next week.. yes, a real photographer. So I need to get my act together. Where to find a Christmas tree in October...?! Think I need to talk to one of the local farmers.
Have a nice day! Oh yes,.. it's Friday again!

Going yellow

Although I might be scared of colours, I love accent colours. My favorite just now is yellow.
Which one is yours?

I put together this mood board yesterday. It contains all the things I love blogging about..
Vintage treasures, DIY, trends and nature..
As there's a bit of yellow in it, I'm including it in this post.

Now we're going to pick up my parents. Haven't seen them since April,
so it'll be nice to spend some time with them.
I do of course have lots of things they can help me with too..
like my Christmas styling.. ;)
Have a lovely day!

Fab place

Today another house tour and isn't it just perfect? I love this place and could move right in. I love.... the wooden floors, the gorgeous staircase, all the furniture, the lamps, the rustic door, the FAB shower, the windows, the light, the white walls, the superbe concrete ceiling, the large dining table, the artwork, the cute fireplaces... yes, everything! What is there not to like. Hope you'll love it too! I would love to hear what you like about this place.

Nature at it's best

The sun came out, so we went mushroom picking. It was great to get out for a bit after all the rain.

I haven't edited these photos at all. The light was magical. We even found some good ceps that we had for dinner.

Some of these ones aren't edible ones, just pretty.

Hope you've had a nice weekend too.
Now it's back to work...

More colours

I thought we'd start this Sunday morning with a home tour.

A vibrant loft apartment in Brooklyn, filled with colourful treasures and contemporary pieces.

What do yo like? I love the artwork.

In the first photo the bird drawing is a children's book cover, found in a Paris flea market. Nice idea.

Have a lovely, relaxing Sunday.

Easy DIY garland

All you need is some string, some card and some glue. :)

First we cut out some circles, then glued them onto our string.
Waited for an hour and voila! Finished!

Unlike me, my son isn't scared of colours and chose the pink neon string.

We've had this Ikea cupboard door since we lived in our other house. I've been trying to sell it, but nobody wanted it.. So instead I'm making use of it and it's kind of become a headboard. I'll be adding some more things, but at least it's a start. Magnus is happy with it and he was helping me with the garland.

Hope you feel like making one too!
Have a nice evening!

Looks like

we'll be spending the entire weekend inside again.. It means that we can get on with some crafty things,
watch films and eat popcorn. :) not so bad really. What have you got planned?!

big hug

Mood board

Oh.. I had so much fun doing this!!!!
This is my first ever mood board and I know now that it won't be the last. My mood board is showing some of the things I'll be including in my fun Christmas project. I layed it all out on the vintage door I showed you yesterday as it will be in it too. The holly was freshly cut this morning after a little stroll in the woods. :) I've got the feeling my neighbours think I'm mental... I shot the photos outside to get better lighting.. better go tidy up now..

Thank you so much for all your messages!
I love the fact that although I'm in (rural) France I have friends all over the world.
You keep me going!

Do you give yourself projects and challenges or it is just me?

Have a creative day!
