Here are some of the Christmas decorations we made today.. aren't they sweet? Love the Rudolf faces that Magnus made all by himself.

I was kind of hoping that he would have used more Christmassy colours... but that's my fault for letting him choose from my button collection.. :) Have a nice evening! hx

Making our own Christmas presents

Magnus is off school today as usual, as in France they have a day off on Wednesdays. So... we'll continue making Christmas presents. We actually started in October ;) We've made some beautiful things that I hope will be very much appreciated by his grandparents in Norway and Scotland. As for photos.. well I have to wait until after Christmas as I don't want them to see what we've made.. but here's our stuff..

Like I said the other day about being inspired to make stars here's one we've made already and we'll be making more today. Will add some nice ribbons so people can hang them up in their windows or on their walls.

Also found this on Beate's blog and I have to say that I find it very inspirational.

Olivia, thank you so much for coming over! Had a great time!

Walking wardrobe

Hi there! I've just started working on our walking wardrobe. It's 165cm x 285cm, but because it was so badly organized it really felt a lot smaller. Here's a before photo

Here's what I did this morning. Really enjoyed working outside.
I got this old, very badly painted chest of drawers for €20.

I spent about an hour sanding it and then used up my leftover paint from our coffee table.

What do you think?

I'll be buying new knobs on Thursday, when I go to pick up my good friend Olivia from the airport. :) Can't wait!

Our walking wardrobe now feels huge!

Will be putting in a shelf over the hanging rail too for extra storage and on the opposite side there's a cool thing coming very soon...

Plans for our bedroom

I've finally persuaded my husband to help me with the wall behind the bed. Here are some samples I've picked up. It's called "comme le beton" and the product is put on like cement... hope we can pull it off.. don't know which finish to choose yet.

Can't wait to get started, but I have to wait until after Christmas..

Here's the bedroom as it is now

We'll be changing loads of things - bedside tables, lamps (already ordered from a new French company) Isn't it cool?

Here's our new headboard I showed you a while back. I've upcycled it and it should look cool on our new beton wall.

Have a nice Sunday!

Our newly painted coffee table

I've painted the table in a minty-greenish colour and it looks cool. I usually paint things in white, grey or black, so this really makes a change.

Love our new lamp too! Now all I need is a shelf over the sofa..
some cushions from Tine K.. some nice photos...  some vintage letters... hmmm... we'll get there. Hope Santa thinks that I've been good this year.

Snowmen Christmas cards by Magnus 4 1/2

These cards that Magnus made yesterday are so cute I just had to share them...

Some have glasses, one's a pirate and has a sword, one is crying because he doesn't have any food... He was so cute making them.. I just didn't have the heart not let him do what he wanted to do... they can't all be happy right?! I'm so proud of him he did such a good job. At the weekend we'll continue with our secret Christmas presents..

To be continued..... hx

New lamp, but where to put it?

I bought a new lamp yesterday without even knowing where to put it. Not very like me... I just really liked it and it was on offer.. only cost me € 22,95 a bargain!

I love it! What do you think? Thinking about hanging it in our living room over the sofa. hx

Inspired by a photo..

When I saw a photo on this blog stylizimo it suddenly just clicked! This is one of my favorite blogs. I've never really felt that our living room worked properly.. It's difficult to explain, but we bought this huge sofa and it took up most of the space in the room. Considering the room is 24m2 it just wasn't right. This is what it used to look like

Anyway, I saw the photo on the Stylizimo blog on Friday night.. and what did i end up doing that same evening?! I moved the sofa..! The living room now looks huge and I've got lots of space for other things. AND it feels a lot nicer. What do you think? Of course now I would like new lamps, curtains, cushions and lots of other stuff... :) Were looking for a new TV bench / cupboard on Saturday, but the one I found was a bit too big and also quite old and knackered to be honest although I really liked it.. Will keep looking.

So here's the start of our new living room. I'm really pleased with it. Magnus came down Saturday morning and he said "Wow! It's beautiful!" how cute..

I need a shelf or something over the sofa. Hmmm... This afternoon I'll be working on my coffee table. It was very ordinary, but I thought better than the old IKEA one.. so have sanded the top. I'll sand the legs, paint them and then sand them some more today. Will show you the result later. Better run! Hx

One boring table made into two classy console tables...

So I headed straight for a workshop and had the guys cut my table for me.. :) Think they thought I was mad, but hey I don't care. Better than being boring I always say.. So I know have 2 console tables 1,5m x 35 cm

One is already finished and here it is

I am so happy with the result. It looks quite posh. Problem now is that I would love to keep it.. It's always difficult to have to sell things that you've enjoyed creating.
The other table will be quite different. Bought the paint today.

Will post more photos as soon as the table is ready.
